For those of you who either missed out on getting a 1-100 in High Grade 00 Gundam (or to those who flat-out refused due to the lack of a movable waist joint), Bandai has rolled out a new product line designed
to rape your wallets to show off a high quality version of the titular mecha, while appealing to the die-cast collector market.
The GN-0000/7S 00 Gundam Seven Sword will be sold as a 1-100 scale figure, complete with a custom decal (or paint) job from Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Mechanical Designer, Kanetake Ebikawa.
It will come with the following:
– GN saber × 2,
– GN Long Sword,
– GN Short Sword,
– GN Buster Sword II,
– GN Qatar × 2,
It will also come with parts to retrofit it into the TV Animation-Style 00 Gundam:
– GN Sword II × 2
– Knee Armor Parts × 2
– Display Stand
The figure will made of PVC, ABS, and POM.
MRSP is 14,490 Yen (178.448)
Release Date is March 2011
Bandai’s new METAL BUILD line is more or less a scaled up version of it’s Gundam Fix Figuration (GFF) and ZEONOGRAPHY lines. The GFF line is designed to appeal to collectors who want a pimped out version of their mecha without having to buy a model kit* and assemble it themselves. Unlike the GFF’s, the METAL BUILD will be in 1/100 scale.
Some may question why the 00 Gundam, instead of the RX-78, or something from the SEED/SEED DESTINY era, but I don’t mind. Moreover, this is the 00 Gundam Seven Sword variant, which was never animated, but seems to be popular, nonetheless.
Unless you would rather keep dreaming for a 00 Master Grade, I would suggest to buy the HG Model Kit and modify it yourself, The METAL BUILD looks cool, but $180 is a bit much for a non model kit.
*Earlier information seemed to have hinted that the METAL BUILD would have been a model kit, but seems to be false (that can be attributed Japan’s obsession with naming products in English, rather than the features of the product itself).
