Episode 26: “The Earth… is Our Eden”
Tonight… Somebody DIES!!!
New 10 Point Score Guide: 1= Horrible 5= Mediocre 10= Excellent
(All scores relative to the series)
– While episode 26 doesn’t do anything particularly new with the Sempai Sacrifice/Pineapple Salad plot device, Woolf’s final moments are rather touching, thanks to a rather heartfelt performance from his voice actor, Daisuke Ono.
– Also, the Magicians Eight continue to prove themselves to be the most weaksauce quirky miniboss squad to ever grace the Gundam franchise.
ANNOYING CHARACTER OF THE WEEK:
Remi Ruth. I don’t mind Dojikko-type characters, or Beta Couples, or hell, even Beta Couples with a Dojikko-type character. However, I don’t like it when a gag-type character is built up into some manufactured ensemble darkhorse, at the expense of the story. I find Remi Ruth’s moeness a bit grating, and that with every extra minute of screentime that the show likes to waste on her and Olbright, the show could invest that screentime into advancing some of the seemingly dropped plot-threads that the show loves to do (like the conspiracy plot, the lack of fallout from Grodek’s murder, the fate of Zalam/Euba, etc.)
7 Out of 10, above average for a Gundam AGE episode.
Episode 27: “I Saw a Red Sunset”
