Bryan Singer, director of the first two films in the X-Men film series will return to direct the X-Men: First Class sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, which is scheduled for a July 18th, 2014 release.
Singer will take over from Matthew Vaughn, who will direct a film adaptation of Secret Service, a project he co-produced with noted comic book writer Mark Millar.
Interestingly enough, two years ago, it was Matthew Vaughn who took over the director’s chair from Bryan Singer during the production of X-Men: First Class, when Singer abdicated the director’s chair to direct an adaptation of Jack the Giant
Killer Slayer. That film is scheduled for a March 1st, 2013 release.
X-Men: Days of Future Past has a tentative release date of July 18, 2014.
